I don’t know about you, but when this time of the year hits, my poor mama brain gets way overloaded with holiday festivities and just doesn’t have a lot of space left for anything else! This month, I usually try to read quick and easy little holiday reads, so I have a few of those to share with you plus one more historical fiction! Hope you find something interesting to you!
I loved “Let it Snow” by Nancy Thayer, she rarely if ever disappoints! Just easy, fun reads where everything always works out in the end. This little story was about a girl who owned a toy shop in Nantucket, who of course meets the man of her dreams during the holiday season. There are some ups and downs, wonderful friendships and just plain holiday fun in this one! The more I read by Nancy Thayer, the more I find myself wanting to visit Nantucket!!
I had started reading “Lady Clementine” last month, but then finished it up this month. It was a very slow read, interesting though, as I have never read anything regarding Mrs. Churchill. I enjoyed reading her perspective during the war and her roles in supporting her husband, and then also just learning more about her background and life.
“25 Days ‘Til Christmas” was a cute read too, it was a little drawn out I felt like but I enjoyed reading it. Kate had lost her husband in his military service, so it was very sad reading about how she was trying to work and support herself and her son, but also encouraging to read about her endeavors to find herself again and pave new paths in her life, as well as renew her love for Christmas. Another good story of love, friendship and Christmas magic!
I have been wanting to read “Christmas Shopaholic” for a couple of years now, and waited a long time for this one at my library! I am a sucker for any story plot set in London or the surrounding areas, I just have so many fond memories traveling there in college so many years ago! I would love to live there one day but who knows if that would ever happen! When Becky finds herself in the position of hosting Christmas for her family and friends, she becomes obsessed with making it the most perfect Christmas for everyone involved. Y’all, I laughed out loud so many times reading through this book, it is just so silly and hysterical at times, but also filled with so many occasions of spreading Christmas cheer and just doing nice things for others. There was some language in this one, that really was my only complaint on this one!
This meme cracked me up so much, it’s exactly how I feel haha! There is nothing better than talking about books with friends and then a friend finding one that they love! I hope that you enjoyed the recommendations this month and that you have a wonderful holiday season!
