St. Louis, MO 2018 – Day 6: The Science Museum

We decided to spend our last full day in St. Louis visiting the St. Louis Science Center! We had contemplated going to the Magic House, which is a children’s museum, but it is closed on Mondays and I didn’t realize that until we were planning out the day! Being a former science teacher though, I wasn’t too disappointed haha, and neither were the boys! They loved the science center and we really enjoyed our time there. Best thing about this place is that it was free!

Someone is getting tired of pictures hehehe…

Seriously, Jude is done with the pictures haha!
You know it’s going to be a good day when they have a panda feature!

We came inside and got our maps, and headed over to the dinosaur exhibit first! In the lobby, there was a huge ball and track system set up, with balls constantly going around the tracks! It was fun to watch for a few minutes!

They had a really cool “fossil dig” in the dinosaur section, the boys loved sitting in the little pits and digging for fossils!

Jude would have stayed here forever! Poor little Jenson was sooo tired!

This dinosaur was roaring and moving around the whole time, kind of scared Jude at first but then he got used to it!

After looking at some real fossils and talking to a guy in the facts room, we moved on to the Earth science area and looked at some information on faults and tectonic plates, topography and more!

This tornado tube was so cool!
Again, Jude would have stayed here forever moving the sand around and looking at the light changing haha!
Little man finally conked out!

After walked through the ecosystem section, we made a stop at the Build a Bear workshop and let the boys stuff a little dinosaur! Jackson named his green brontosaurus Jaser and Jude called his dinosaur Blue! They had so much fun making little wishes on the hearts they stuffed inside and picking out t shirts for them!

Jenson got a pterodactyl that we named Terry because he is always screaming and squealing like one lately hehe!

We walked through their energy corridor next, they had some cool little games for the kids to play, different ways to generate energy and lots of cool displays and facts!

They loved this coal game haha!

We grabbed some lunch at the little food court they had there, they had some pretty good pizza! Then we headed outside to look at their water way systems, the gardens and farming area.

The farming area was pretty funny! You could milk a cow, learn about the cow’s digestive system and sit in some awesome farm equipment haha!

They also had a huge building with insects, seeds and soil information for different areas of the U.S., as well as a little corner with some toys that the boys played with for a little bit!

Daddy had to take a work call so the boys hung out with their Dinos for a bit while we waited!

After the science center, we drove over to the Arch, so the boys could see the arch and museum inside. It is really beautiful over there around the Arch area, and it was pretty easy to find parking nearby. We didn’t go up to the top because it was later in the day and we didn’t feel like we had time, but we did enjoy walking through the museum in the bottom of the arch.

I’ve always enjoyed looking at bridges, they just are so symmetrical and pretty to me.
Pretty walk way on the way to the arch.

After the arch, we headed back across town and hit up Ted Drew’s for some frozen custard! It was super delicious! Highly recommend! They had so many different flavors and blends you could choose from!

We finished up the day grabbing some Wendy’s and heading back to the hotel. It was a super long day but a good one. We started packing up our stuff because tomorrow we head back to Texas!

The boys need to come over and let Glenn show them some of his fossils. He’s already given some to our grandsons, but he still has a pretty good collection that he’s collected over the years. Our boys have loved looking at them, and learning to identify them.
