St. Louis, MO 2018 – Day 2: St. Louis Zoo

We woke up bright and early and went to our hotel lobby to get breakfast, then let Jenson take a quick nap and got ready to go to the St. Louis Zoo. We planned to stay the whole day here because of its size and having so much to do.

St. Louis has a GREAT zoo. It is huge, so many great things to see and do and best of all, it is FREE. Now if you want to visit the children’s area and ride the train or carousel, then that was a small fee unless you can get to the zoo early during the first hour it’s open. Also, if you have a membership to another zoo, you could get a discount on the fee to the children’s attractions.

This was a busy day but one of our most favorite days of the trip! We always enjoy seeing the animals and just being outside walking around. Hope you enjoy our pictures from the day!

We made it!

We did the children’s zoo section first, it was somewhat at the front of the zoo and we were hoping it would be less crowded earlier in the day. They had a few animals out for the kids to pet and so many cute slides and things to do around there! I loved that they had some guinea pigs out to pet because I had a few growing up. They were such cute little fellows! Stinky, but cute haha!

I think the polar bear was one of my favorite exhibits here! He was amazing, just kept swimming back and forth in front of us, it was mesmerizing!

Love this little nugget so much!

They had a really cute train that went around the zoo, which is also included in that children’s zoo pass I was referencing earlier. We were able to get on and get off at different parts of the zoo rather than walking at times.

Jude was so excited to see a tiger and finally we saw one at the very end of the day!

After we finished up at the zoo, we went to a super yummy BBQ called Pappy’s BBQ. It was located near the zoo downtown, and I read on Yelp that the lines here can be long! I thought coming on a random weekday (a Thursday) and coming in the early afternoon before the dinner crowd hit would be a good idea and it ended up being great! There was hardly a line at all, and it moved very quickly.

The food here was so delicious! I would have loved to come back here every day haha!

After dinner, we came back to the hotel and got ready for bed! I sure do love clean little boys in pjs! This little baby was such a trooper and sooooo tired!

After some quick snuggles, these little guys conked out! Day 2 was a success!
