Corpus Christi, TX – July 2020

We love taking the boys to the beach each year, and since Galveston has been so crowded this summer due to COVID traveling restrictions, we decided to head down a little further to Corpus Christi. I’m not complaining one bit though, I grew up visiting Corpus with my family and just always enjoy the attractions down there too.

And we’re off! Love turning around and seeing these three sweet faces all lined up across the back seat!

Can’t leave out mom and dad!
Sweet sleeping baby face.
This picture cracked me up, I was sending a picture of my cozy shirt to Erica and Jackson totally photo bombed me haha, he wasn’t actually mad at all! Just being a stinker!

We stopped at a Dairy Queen for a snack and potty break, there weren’t that many options haha but the boys loved it! They were so excited about their ice cream cones, and hey mama was excited about her blizzard!

We saw TONS of these on a wind farm on the way down, online it said this is called the Papalote Creek Wind Farm.
We also saw the Lexington driving in as well!

We arrived in Corpus Christi and found our hotel, I came up with the boys to our room while Jacob unloaded the truck. One of the perks of being the mom hehehehe…

We loved the set up of our room, with a separate bedroom and living/eating area, we had plenty of space to spread out a bit.

We walked to a little diner behind the hotel and enjoyed lots of yummy sea food!

After we ate, we walked along the sea wall a bit so the boys could see the boats and the water. It was SOOO windy!!

Jenson’s little face here is just so funny, I love it so much!!!
I thought this quote was just so good. It was on the back of a bench!
So windy, but it felt so nice!
Y’all, I laughed SO hard when I saw this. I keep saying this, SO windy hahaha….

We headed back to our room and go the boys ready for bed, they all piled in one for books!

Friday, we went down to the beach, some of the beach access points were closed and we weren’t able to park on the beach, but we found our way down with all of our stuff!

We spent most of the day just playing in the water and relaxing, had our lunch and played some more. Then it started raining and we packed up and headed back to the room!

This boy loves his gatorade!
Seriously, my favorite kind of days.
Cookies for everyone!
I read for about two minutes hehe…

Jenson took a nap and then Jacob went and grabbed up some Whataburger for dinner. Can’t come to Corpus Christi and not have Whataburger, plus what else is better after a long day at the beach than a burger!?

Watching for Jacob to get back! Slash everyone always has to be sitting on mom!

I always grab fun little activities or new books for the boys when we take trips, I like to have things for them to do in our room if we have down time so they don’t just get stuck watching TV!

So excited when I found these Jurassic World activity books for them!

Saturday, we went over to the Texas State Aquarium, and saw the Lexington next door! Hoping next time we take a trip down that the boys will be a little bigger and able to do a tour on the ship next time.

They have made a huge addition here since we were here last, I was excited to see it!
Jude was SO excited about this day. He could not wait to see some sharks!

Here we go!

Little jude’s face… I loved watching him today and see how excited he was to see all of the sea creatures.
hehe my turn!
Part of the new section!
That mask life!
Love the stingray!
This new tank was amazing too!
You can see the bridge from the aquarium!
Love this little boy so much.
Watching the big tank for a few minutes!
The boys thought the bald eagle was so cool!
Snack time!
Talked to the boys for a few minutes about the Lexington and how it fought in WW2, it’s really crazy when you start trying to explain that war and why it started, why the United States had to intervene…just made me think, how in the world does something like this happen…
Sea Otters are one of my favorites, the boys too!

We went back to the hotel for Jenson to nap and the boys to play, then headed down to Snoopy’s for fish tacos on the pier. Of course we had to stop next door at Scoopy’s too for some ice cream! The boys enjoyed watching the boys speed by while they ate their treats!

Sunday morning we swam in the hotel pool for a couple of hours and then had lunch in our room, let Jenson take a nap and then worshipped with our church via live stream.

Sweet brothers, my heart.
Two were very excited to get into the pool…
One, not so much.
He got brave though and joined us 🙂
Checking out the views while Jenson naps.
Mr. Pope came to Corpus!

After we did our worship, we took the boys to go putt putt at this little adventure course, they loved it!

Gotta get a shot of the parents!

We went to Cheddar’s for dinner, and trust me, this is not the norm to be watching shows while we eat haha! The boys were just over waiting, and after a long day we just needed a distraction so we could enjoy our meal!

Our little trip is coming to a close, it was time to pack up our things! The boys of course had to do a little luggage rack surfing!

We’re ready to head out!
Jenson loves singing, it is one of the sweetest things to listen to in the car!
Three tired boys!

Hope you enjoyed seeing our little trip to Corpus, we certainly enjoyed going and creating some great memories together!
