What I’m Reading – March 2025

March ended up being kind of rom-com heavy hah! You would think that would have been more appropriate for last month! πŸ™‚

I love Melissa Ferguson, she has the cutest little family, living in a farmhouse in Tennessee, homeschooling, baking bread and taking care of their animals! She writes the cleanest little rom coms, they’re never too heavy, alway a cute pick me up. πŸ™‚ “The Perfect Rom-Com” was one of my favorites that she wrote, I feel like each time she releases a book it just gets better. Bryony is desperately trying to get her book published, to save her grandmother’s organization where she helps teach ESL to new U.S. citizens. Jack refuses to publish her novel, but does get her signed up ghost writing for another author, and it goes better than she has ever dreamed…but she still wants to write “her novel.” Loved the way this one played out!

I listened to “Cesar’s Way” this month, trying to gleam some wisdom for my own new puppy haha…this book was ok…I felt like it was more of him talking about his own life story and what he does rather than practical information for a dog owner.

I also listened to “Dare to Love the Guy Next Door,” and thought it was cute. After being humiliated publicly by her fiance, Paisley escapes to her family’s ocean view cottage to get away for a bit. She definitely was not planning on falling in love with her childhood friend, Griffin, or having any kind of relationship period. πŸ™‚

Give me a good psychological thriller any day. “None of This is True” was a good one. Alix, a podcaster, is celebrating her birthday at a restaurant, when Josie bumps into her in the restroom, also claiming that it’s her own birthday. She runs into Alix again and somehow convinces Alix to use her life story as a podcast series. It gets darker and darker, the further Alix goes through the years of her life, and becomes increasingly harder to figure out what is true, and what is not. It’s crazy what this girl is hiding.

I read “The Secret Book of Flora Lea” based off of a blog recommendation, but it wasn’t my favorite this month. Two young girls are evacuated from Britain to the country side to live with another family, in order to keep them safe during the war. They spend a lot of time in the country, the oldest sister, Hazel, making up a magical wonderland story to entertain her younger sister Flora. Sadly though, one day Flora disappears while playing, and Hazel spends years and years blaming herself for her loss. Working in a bookstore as an adult, a book comes in that is all about the magical stories that she only told her sister. She believes her sister might still be alive, and chases every thread to find her.

“Dare to Love My Fake Husband” was cute, an easy one to listen to. Just a couple thrown together by their parents, pretending to be engaged, only to fall in love for real. πŸ™‚

I liked “Love Interest” but if I remember correctly, the language wasn’t great in it. Casey is passed over for a job promotion by the handsome Alex, and then they are forced to work together. You can imagine how that probably turns out. πŸ™‚

“Four Weekends and a Funeral” was cute, Alison shows up to her ex-boyfriend’s funeral, and realizes that on one knew he broke up with her. She is thrown together with his best friend, to clean out her ex’s apartment…again, you can probably guess how things end up!
