Boston, MA & Vermont – October 2024: Day 1

I have wanted to travel to Vermont during the Fall for YEARS. Dreamed of seeing “real fall colors” and experience that “real fall feeling” that we all try to recreate in stinking hot Texas haha! Jacob quit his job this month and had a week before starting his new job, so my parents thankfully said they could come stay with the boys and we jetted off to see those leaves!

We made it Houston and hopped on the shuttle! (This was me after spending DAYS preparing for us to leave, six pages at least of notes for my mom – so much more because we are homeschooling now, two soccer games that morning and finding a sitter to be with the boys until my parents could get there hah! I think I was dying inside a bit! Not to mention still so down and sad after losing sweet Jacey earlier that week.)

One of my favorite things in life is getting snacks at the airport and reading on my kindle while waiting for our time to board. Jude has asked me to bring along his Shiny Dragon on any trips we take without the boys, so I take pictures of of him along the way and send them to him at home. 🙂

We made it. I think I’m in shock that I was able to pull this off haha…the whole week I kept thinking, “No way do we need to go on a trip right now!” and “There is no way I will get everything done in time!”

I love taking evening flights, the sky is just so beautiful.

Flying over New York at night was pretty cool too!

Hello Boston!

We made it to Boston, I asked Jacob if I looked cool haha….I do however really like my travel outfit, it was very comfy. 🙂

Our little room for the next two nights! Boston was surprisingly pricey, but I found this boutique hotel in the Copley square, which was within walking distance to church and close to the Symphony.

That’s it for today, I will be adding more posts for this trip in case you want to follow along!

As much trouble and planning as it was, I’m glad you took the trip! Mom
