I love using Goodreads to keep up with what I’ve been reading over the year, and one of my favorite things is that at the end of the year it gives this cool synopsis of what you have read! I took screen shots so I could share it here and then at the end I’ll share which books were my favorites for this year! Whether you read more or less than I did, I think the important thing is that you are reading! I love setting challenges for myself in this area, it’s so fun to work towards throughout the year. I hope you have all had an excellent reading journey this year, I am already looking forward to what 2023 will bring! Thanks for following along with me this year!
Maybe it’s the science teacher still in me, but I love all of these little facts like this! Now on to the book collages, I think they are so pretty haha!
Now on to my favorites for this year…y’all…this is always so hard haha, to only pick 3 out of 78 is tough! I was looking back at my 2021 year review and was cracking up, because I chose “The Rose Code” by Kate Quinn as my top read, and this year, my top read is “Diamond Eye,” also by Kate Quinn hehe! As I looked through all of my books, my eye just kept coming back to that one. I loved every moment of that book, and I loved that it drove me to research the actual woman who lived the life of a woman Russian sniper, and learn more about her after I was done.
My second pick for 2022 was actually a series…I’m not sure if that’s breaking the “pick your favorite book” rules, but I’m doing it this year. “The All Souls Trilogy” just left me wanting more every time one of her books finished, and when I finished the third, I remember messaging a friend of mine who recommended the books and telling her that I was down the whole rest of the day because I knew there was no more Matthew and Diana delve into haha! These books were long, but I loved them. It was just such a cool story from start to finish, and I love things that make me think outside the box. I could see myself reading these again at some point, so that’s also a good sign!
And last but not least, my third pick was “The Last Bookshop in London.” I was waffling a bit on this one, because there were so many others that were basically on par with it, but I think it really grabbed my heart, and that was what separated it above the rest. I loved the story of Grace saving the old man’s bookshop, saving the people during the war through books…it was just one of those that went deep inside my heart emotionally, had me crying at times and so happy at others.
A few more I wanted to mention… there were all in the running for my third pick, and I highly recommend them as well!
- “The Forest of Vanishing Stars”
- “Three Sisters”
- “Cul de Sac War” and Melissa Ferguson in general
- “Anxious People”
- “Sparks Like Stars”
- “The Wedding Veil”
This next group are my favorite self help books from this year…I listened to all of them because I do better with that media for this genre, but they were all super helpful and easily could have been in that list above!
- “What Happened to You”
- “Atomic Habits”
- “The Road back to You”
- “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry”
You can find my individual reviews for those books listed in my Books tab by selecting the month they are listed under!
