I know technically most of September is still summer, but in my head it feels Fall, so then I start leaning more towards Fall feeling reads. 🙂

Kind of don’t exactly know what to say about this book…“Maine Characters” was decent I think, but I wasn’t really prepared for what this story was about. I was expecting a little more of a rom-com scenario, but this is about two half-sisters meeting for the first time after their father’s death at a cabin that he owned and shared with them independently throughout the year. I think the parts that bothered me were some of the relationship aspects like cheating with a married man, and some other things like that. I did enjoy the aspect of two sisters growing a relationship and working through hard stuff together.

After reading “The Perfect Couple” last month, I checked out “Swan Song” and enjoyed it. This book was crazy hah…a random couple from out of town moves onto Nantucket and purchases a $22 million dollar house, proceeds to through insane parties and try to get “in” with all the cool people of Nantucket. Eventually, their house burns down and a girl is missing, all on the brink of the Chief of police’s retirement.

I love Liv Constantine and have read so many of these two sisters’ books! “Everywhere You Look” was a shorter story from them about Jade who sees her long dead father very alive and walking around. She is desperate to track him down and understand why he faked his death, uncovering so much more of her past in doing so.

I’ve been wanting to read “Pumpkin Spice Cafe,” it seemed to have a very Gilmore Girls look/feel to it. It was a cute story about Jeanie moving into a small town to take over her aunt’s coffee shop, only to unexpectedly fall in love with a stand offish farmer in town. Cute story, but more spice to it than I was expecting. Not for your YA readers!

I also am a Sally Hepworth fan and have read so many of her books. “The Ex-Wives Club” was also a shorter story if I remember correctly, where Chef Ian is found dead in his freezer, and his three ex-wives are all up for the blame. It was a pretty good little murder mystery.

Sometimes you just need a classic, and “Pride and Prejudice” always fits that bill. I listened to this this month and really enjoyed the reread. I think everyone know this story, but what I love about it is that it just feels healing. It’s a comfort read for me, linking back to years before in my life since I first read it in high school. Made me think that I need to read this one more often.

Oooo Clare Mackintosh….“I See You” was good… Do you ever feel like someone is watching you? Maybe you take the same route to work everyday, same habits everyday, but one day you realize that someone has picked up on that. Zoe finds a picture of herself in the classified ads, with a number and website attached to it. She follows the ad and realizes that each day there is a different woman, who then start becoming the targets of crimes or murders. In her own panic, she is desperate to figure out what is going on, and how someone is tracking these women.

“Murder By Cheesecake” was ok, but it wasn’t my favorite this month. Another guy dead in the freezer (ironic), is linked to one of the ladies. They are working on planning a wedding, and I think all of the St. Olaf traditions is what really turned me off with this book. It was just all too weird and distracting. Probably won’t be reading another one of these!

This made me laugh so much hahaha…I def had had moments like this where I just have to put my Kindle down and give up!
