I love a good fall read. Mysteries, psychological thrillers, cute fall rom-coms…sign me up!

Ok, “Mother-Daughter Murder Night” was cute. I listened to this one and really enjoyed it! A single mom is living with her daughter, when her mother gets sick with cancer and has to move in with them. Her daughter is involved in a kayak tour guide company, and finds a dead man floating in the water. The Grandmother is also witness to mysterious comings and going at night. Together, they all are able to figure out what is going on.

“P.S. I Hate You” … I had a lot of mixed feelings on this one. Lauren is traveling all over the U.S. to eight different locations designated by her late brother, in order to spread his ashes. The premise was fine, but I wasn’t crazy about her brother’s best friend divorcing his wife and then being looped in on the trek, so of course he falls for Lauren. I just struggle when a busted up marriage for no reason whatsoever is part of the deal. Wasn’t my favorite read, but it was ok.

“The Bookstore Sisters” was a cute read. Isabel lives in New York now, but after the death of her parents and with her sister struggling with their family bookstore, she is compelled to return home to a small island off the coast of Maine. It’s hard for her to return home and confront her past, but so many things change to make it worth her while.

My sister got me into reading The Bridgerton series, and I have loved it! While the Netflix show is “quite” scandalous, (get your fast forward button ready if you’re going to watch that hah!) the books are a lot more tame with just a spicy scene here and there. ๐ “The Duke and I” was so good. I love a good 1800s romance, I just enjoy the time-period setting, with the back drop of London and the English countryside. Daphne is the fourth of eight Bridgerton children, and it is finally time for her to come out and enter the courting scene. Simon Hastings has returned to town, with no intention of finding a wife and starting a family. Funny how those intentions can change though with just one mis-step in a garden. ๐

The second book, “The Viscount Who Loved Me” was also so good! I really loved Anthony’s story. He is the oldest of the Bridgerton children, and has decided it is time for him to take a wife. Of course he has exactly what he wants in mind, when in reality, the woman who ends up becoming his wife is completely the opposite of that plan. This one made me laugh, I loved the croquet scenes haha!

I have listened to this little series by Ellie Hall, and while pretty cheesy, they’re cute and help pass the time while I’m washing dishes. ๐ “Dare to Love My Grumpy Boss” was pretty much just as the title says! When a girl and guy who have connected only online for work meet up in person on a work retreat, you never know what could happen. It was silly at times, but entertaining. ๐

I am pounding this series this month HAH! I don’t know what I will do with myself once I’m done with them all! “An Offer From A Gentleman” was also a great read! I loved reading about the mysterious woman who caught Benedict’s eye, and how he finally is able to track her down and figure out her identity. This is completely a side note- but I’ve been watching some of the Netflix series, and it’s driving me nuts how much they are changing the books for the series! WHY?!

“Romancing Mister Bridgerton” was also so good! I loved Colin’s story so much, and I was so happy for Penelope in this one! Also loved the big secret this book let out! Colin finally meets his match, the one who gets him to slow down and put down some roots. And Penelope is so deserving! Love this big secret this book unveils as well!

If you’ve been following my book reviews for any time, you know I’ve also been making my way through the Finlay Donovan series. “Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave” was good, I listened to this one! A dead body is discovered in Mrs. Haggerty’s back yard, so for the time being she moves in with Finlay, which is absolutely hysterical. So many secrets to uncover, and Mrs. Haggerty is a tough egg to crack!

Another good read, I loved Eloise’s story. “To Sir Phillip, With Love” was so endearing. Eloise became one of my favorite characters over the course of this series, I just really enjoyed her dedication to herself and to only accept a love match. She begins writing letters to Sir Phillip, and on a whim decides to visit him, unchaperoned. It’s a messy situation indeed, but of course all turns out well in the end.

Ahhh Gilmore Girls! How I miss that show so much! These meme cracked me up because it is so true!
