What I’m Reading – June 2025

Summer reading time is here! Six books for you to check out!

“Quicksilver”. I love a good romantasy book, and this one was pretty good. I find myself measuring everything up to Sarah J. Maas, and while this one definitely had some adult content in it, the story line was pretty good. There is so much to this book that I don’t even know where to start. A crazy restrictive government, with domain kinds of cities…a girl with secret powers who accidentally attaches herself to a powerful fae warrior, and gets involved in a war that is hundreds of years old…it was a good read.

Hi, I’m Jenna Campbell, and I am a professional overthinker, which translates into worry, which spirals my anxiety. So yes, you will see me reading books about worry and other forms of mental wars to support and educate myself in mental health. 🙂 “The Worry Cure” was practical and very applicable. I enjoyed listening to it and would consider a book I would listen to again.

Hello Sarah Adams, one of my favorite authors. “Beg, Borrow, or Steal” was so cute, loved it. It’s the third book in her Rome, Kentucky series, and it was adorable. Two elementary school teachers, enemies to lovers trope…this book had me laughing out loud quite often. I’m get to go meet her next January and I can’t wait!

I loved “The Summer of Yes.” Maybe not the best book I’ve read, but I really appreciated the message. Kelsey accidentally gets hit by a car, and ends up sharing a hospital room with business guru Georgia Tate. They become the most unlikely pair (not necessarily friends), but each bring out the best in each other as they take a road trip together saying yes to all the things. I just loved the sentiment so much.

“The Friend Zone” was cute. Kristin is trying to keep Josh away because she knows he wants a big family and that is something she can’t give him. I can’t remember language, but I don’t remember thinking that it was awful.

I really enjoyed listening to “Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy.” This book addressed the reasons people might feel depressed and what to do about it, focusing on methods that were drug-free. I felt like there were so many good tips to take away, even if you don’t deal with depression!

Another month of great books! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my book reviews! If you’d like to see previous months from this year, check out the links below! I have more reviews from the last almost ten years under my Books tab! Follow me on Goodreads here!
