Seattle, WA has been on our radar for a while now. We almost visited right before I had Jude in 2015, but we chose San Diego, CA instead. I’m so glad that we waited because since then, two of my cousins and their families moved up to Seattle for job opportunities, so we took this trip for family experiences but also to visit them!
Both of these cousins are on my mom’s side of the family, so because I knew she would enjoy seeing them and their families too, (not to mention we were traveling with THREE kiddos), we asked them to tag along with us!
We enjoyed this trip so much, it was beautiful, fun and just plain special to share time like this with a huge part of my family! Hope you enjoy following along!
We drove into Houston the night before our flight since it was earlier the next morning. Grabbed a hotel room near the airport and woke up bright and early the next day for our flight!
First coffee of the trip, hah!Up and ready to GO!On the shuttle, on our way to the airport!Other side of the shuttle!
This sweet lady saw us coming and offered her help with all of our bags! I mean, when you’re bringing THREE car seats and traveling for seven days, you have a LOT of stuff hah!
Two silly boys ready to board! My sweet parents! We have loved taking trips with grandparents over the years, I did this growing up and have been glad we’ve been able to do this with both sides while the kids are little.I always give the boys little toys and things to do on the plane while we are waiting to board, they always look forward to their little surprises and it keeps them busy on the plane without having to use an iPad or technology. Airport coffee!
Found our seats and got settled in, someone is ready for a nap!
By some miracle, I was able to read for a few minutes on the flight!!!We got to Seattle and picked up our rental car, crammed everyone and everything inside, and to the shock of everyone it FIT HAH! Also, can you see Jude’s little hand in the back by my mom? Totally was cracking me up, here I am mom!!!
This was our place for the week! It was a great location and had lots of space for us to spread out a bit!We made it and we’re coming for you Seattle! We met one of my cousins and his family for dinner that evening, we were so excited to see them! Since we were staying in town, we were able to walk to the pizza place!I love that even though we don’t get to see them a ton, our kids click and pick up right where they left off. They love their little cousins! The pizza at Pagliacci was so delicious! Nora put away multiple slices haha, this girl can EAT!After we ate dinner, we walked over to a park for the kids to run around a bit since we had been traveling all day!The boys were excited to find some snow while we were out hehe. Then walked back to our place! Jackson has always wanted a baby sister, he is always so sweet to Nora when we’re together. The walk back up to our place is so steep haha!!Little man just couldn’t hang, fell asleep on our walk back. Love the Ergo baby for when we travel, it’s so comfortable to wear long periods of time, and keeps them snuggly warm too.
Well, that sums up our first day! We have so many fun things planned for the week, and are so excited to be here! Hope you enjoyed a look into our first travel day!
