Day 6: Church in Bondi Beach and Bondi Beach

Today we got up and took the subway to attend worship services over in Bondi (Sounds like Bond-eye) Beach. It was only about a 15 minute ride once we got the subway station. The congregation was small, about 25 people, but they were all so welcoming and nice. I just think it is the coolest thing to be able to go to places so far away from home and have a common bond with perfect strangers. We enjoyed our time with them and then took the bus over to the beach.
Meeting place
Just a map so you can see where we were at today. The colored sections are the parts of Sydney we have been spending time in.
After church, we took the bus over to the beach area and ate lunch at a little restaurant that overlooked the beach. It was super yummy and the woman here was flagging people down to come eat, she was really cute and nice. Everyone in the restaurant called her “Mom” hehe.

I got the Fish and Chips – SO GOOD!

After lunch, we walked down the sidewalk, went into a couple of shops and then went to the beach to walk around a little bit. It was cool outside today, so the water was pretty cold, but we wanted to step in for a few minutes anyway. This would be the second time we’ve gotten into the Pacific but we also visited the beach in California last summer too so that would make three.

After we sat on the beach for a little while, we got some gelatto and sat on the park portion of the beach. After we finished our yummy gelatto, we took the bus back to the subway and then took the subway back to our hotel.

After we came back to the hotel and changed, we rested for a few minutes and then went out for dinner. There are a number of little hole in the wall restaurants like the Pacifico around our hotel, so we found an Italian place to eat at tonight. It was pretty good, but didn’t meet our expectations. Again though, very nice people, and good food but we kind of wished we would have ordered something different. After we ate, we came back to the hotel to enjoy our night.

Well, our trip will be coming to a close soon! :0( Tomorrow is our last full day, and then Tuesday we will have a couple of hours that morning before we have to go to the airport. Hope you enjoyed the post!
